Tens of thousands of migrants were amassed at the U.S.-Mexico border as Title 42, which allowed the US Government to deny entry to many, was repealed.
Earthquake struck Tonga’s offshore
Earthquake struck Tonga’s offshore. The 7.6 magnitude earthquake was followed by a 5.6 magnitude tremor.
Severe flooding in Democratic Republic of Congo
The same weather system that has hit Rwanda and Uganda on 2 May 23 (See HADRI’s GDS 005) has continued west causing catastrophic damage in D.R.C’s east. Heavy rainfall has caused flash flooding and landslides, which reportedly killed 400 people and wounded an additional 150. Significant damage to housing, infrastructure, fields and livestock has also been reported.
