In Italy, two people are dead after rivers in the drought-stricken Emilia-Romagna region broke their banks as a result of heavy rainfall.

The last two years have seen Italy face its most severe drought in 70 years, leaving the Po River severely depleted.

Non-stop rain saw waters rise 1.5 meters in under 24 hours in some areas. Authorities have stated that around 450 people have been evacuated from their homes, with one person remaining unaccounted for.
