Severe flooding in Democratic Republic of Congo
The same weather system that has hit Rwanda and Uganda on 2 May 23 (See HADRI’s GDS 005) has continued west causing catastrophic damage in D.R.C’s east. Heavy rainfall has caused flash flooding and landslides, which reportedly killed 400 people and wounded an additional 150. Significant damage to housing, infrastructure, fields and livestock has also been reported.

Some 30,000 people have been forced to flee their homes, while 28 schools are closed impacting 6000 students.
