The conflict in Yemen, currently in its eighth year, eased slightly in the late stages of 2022 and early 2023. This lull in hostilities offers opportunities for greater access into, and within the war-torn country. However, the catastrophic humanitarian crises faced by Yemen remain ongoing, numerous and complex.

While the slight easing of conflict in Yemen has allowed for increased international assistance, the country still grapples with complex and ongoing humanitarian crises. Challenges range from physical insecurity and pervasive food and water scarcity, to widespread health issues compounded by trade restrictions. Additionally, environmental hazards further strain the already fragile infrastructure. This necessitates an urgent focus on improving local food production and clean water availability.
