Canada (Alberta) Wildfires | Evacuations and thousands of students impacted

The Alberta region of Canada has seen abnormal levels of activity for this wildfire season.

As of the 11th of May, 75 active wildfires have been reported while 23 of them are classified as out of control. A provincial state of emergency has been declared in Alberta.

Currently, 300 Canadian troops have been deployed to assist firefighters and evacuate communities. Some 30,000 people have been forced to flee their homes, while 28 schools are closed impacting 6000 students.
